Things to Do in Historic New Richmond & Downtown Cincinnati

On the Grounds and Nearby

Susanna’s Guest House is dedicating that guests enjoy their time with us even if they choose to stay on our grounds during their entire stay with us. Here are just a few things you can take advantage of on our grounds or the Ohio River just steps away from our doors:

  • Canoeing

  • Biking

  • Boat rides

  • Outdoor games

  • Outdoor fire pit

  • Horse riding lessons

For a more cultural experience, guests can take a downtown walking tour through historic New Richmond in addition to enjoying any of the many outdoor activities listed here.

Historic New Richmond

Susanna’s Guest House was built in the 1860s, but it’s not the only place with a story to tell. Located in historic New Richmond, you may want to venture to these places beyond our equally historic B&B to learn more about the area:

  • Ulysses S. Grant’s Birthplace & Museum

  • Ross Gowdy House Museum

  • The Cardboard Boat Museum

We highly recommend The Ross Gowdy House, which was owned by New Richmond land purchasers Thomas and Susanna Ashburn, the couple whom the guest house is named after, as an excellent starting point.

Local Attractions

You can also take a stroll in Downtown Cincinnati and enjoy the local restaurants and shops if you want to do something more relaxing and unscheduled. The following are also just a short 10-15 minute drive away from Susanna’s Guest House:

  • Woodland Mound Park, East Fork Lake Park

  • Riverbend Music Center

  • Coney Island

All of these attractions are great for individuals, couples, or families because they offer a little something for everyone.

We hope you have the time to take in all that Historic New Richmond and Cincinnati have to offer during your stay with us at Susanna’s Guest House. Feel free to ask us about any of these attractions at check-in and we will be more than happy to give you more personalized recommendations!
